Things I have learnt this week:

1.  Don't trust the garage man who, relieving you of over a thousand bucks, tells you the car's as good as new.  It isn't. It broke down in Orthez and has cost another 500 to get fixed.

2.  Never think that a man will tire of watching a port being dredged.

3.  Know that each February you stay in Le Manoir in Capbreton something bad happens to Zelensky (hitherto at the hands of Putin.  This time, Trump).

4.  Dogs do produce lactic acid.  Dr Google proved Nico wrong.  They also don't like their paw bandaged when they've walked on an oyster shell.

5.  Mimosa, like mistletoe, is usually hard to reach.

6.  The sea is very cold in February.

7.  That when you start watching 12 Angry Men you can't stop, even dubbed into French, it's gripping.
