St Andrew’s Church

It was grey, misty and raining when I woke this morning so a RPM cycle class at the gym was a welcome activity.

When the rain started to ease late morning I went with my husband to Cullompton driving through a misty route on the commons. It would have been great for photography but we had another agenda. My husband is planning a cycle trip from here so needed to recee the location. We had another agenda enjoyable lunch and then a walk around this very historic town. Lots of very old buildings including St Andrew’s Church which has Saxon origins. It was rebuilt in 1430. It is unique in England having the original carved wooden base of the medieval rood. Also called a Golgotha with its carved skulls, rocks and crossbows.

It was a set subject competition this evening and l was very surprised and pleased to receive a gold for the image of a farmer putting out hay for the cows. The topic was at work.
