Abstract Thursday - ‘Patterns’

I went to our Thursday communion this morning, followed by our usual coffee (and in some cases, including me, toasted tea cake). We were joined today by Daphne, whose husband Roger’s funeral was held at St Luke’s recently. She’s gradually getting out at her own pace, and I’ve invited her over for a cuppa when she feels ready. We go back many years, as Daphne and Roger were friends with Mum and Dad. We are very thankful that our faith provides comfort, strength and hope. I could not have coped without it in my own great loss - it’s a steadying anchor in tumultuous times, especially at the moment when the world seems to have gone quite mad.

After lunch I drove to the nearest branch of Wren to look at their fitted bedrooms. They’ve got 50% off at the moment, and I liked their Shaker range. I’ve booked a no-obligation appointment for measuring up next Monday afternoon, and another with the designer in the showroom to build a virtual reality model of what my choices would look like in my bedroom (you put on a VR headset and can walk around the room and even open cupboards and drawers).

Many thanks to Ingeborg for hosting the Abstract Thursday challenge, with this week’s theme of ‘Patterns’. I’ve built up an abstract image in three different editors, based on a photograph of a patterned cushion on my sofa, but with added colour (a subtle show of support for Ukraine), and with sunburst and halftone dot patterns thrown into the mix.
