Snowy Shores..

..where some have gone before ....I could see their tracks..but none yet this morning..I was on my own in a snowy landscape.

Whilst there, a fellow photo addict came along and we had a chat...both of us very much moved and teary-eyed by the dead swan we  had encountered on the path down to the lake. So sad.

One gets to know the swans as there are usually at least two swimming about among all those geese and ducks; there is one that is always identifiable as he has a tag pinned onto his wing...Z27.... and that, sadly, was the one lying frozen on the path.

Yet again, the shoreline was of interest. It always surprises..just a little different each time I visit. Whereas last time I was there, it was the ice sculptures that cried out for photos..sculptures formed by waves crashing on old tree trunks and breakwater structures in freezing weather; today it was snow piled on on ice platforms that had formed extending the "shoreline" out further.

It was little more difficult making my way close to the shoreline this time; there were paths made from yesterday's visitors, but they didn't always get right down to the water. Being super cautious these days, I refrained from plodding through deep snow piled upon uncertain ground. Who knows what lurks under all that innocent looking white stuff.?...but I did see some tracks out onto that platform of ice...not for me..my adventurous spirit has departed of late!

It was a good way to begin my day, despite the cold - minus 11C (but luckily with no wind to make it worse! ). It seems, however, it will be some time before this snow melts and spring arrives; despite nice days like this, winter is beginning to wear thin.

To cheer myself up, I stopped en route home to pick up a bouquet of tulips! Pink ones.....
