Captain Sensible
What a great day.
After meeting for a fat boy breakfast, we piled into a minibus to take us over the Pennines to Manchester for the cricket. The weather forecast looked lousy, and it certainly looked pretty grim before we left.
We were lucky - the rain held until about 4.30 when it was clear that there wasn't going to be any more play, and we returned to Huddersfield for a quick shower before heading off to Holmfirth. I love Holmfirth - a sleepy northern village famous for Last of the Sumer Wine having been filmed there. And right in the middle of the village is the Picturedrome - one of the best venues for live music I've been to. It's quite small - probably no more than 600-700 people tops, and they sell Timothy Taylors Landlord bitter. But also they have the most superb bands playing.
Tonight we went to see The Damned. I have to say they were totally awesome - but I was also everso slightly blown away by the support band, The Skeletal Family. Too many choices for a blip today. I might end up doing a photograph of a today photograph tomorrow!
