Fit and maple?
After a lovely late video chat with bestie last night, and a night of not brilliant sleep I was up for another early breakfast and out the door in the car c/o the Flum Taxicab Co. Ltd. to yet another hospital clinic appointment.
I spent rather a lot of time looking at not much more than a beige wall, heavily repainted radiator pipes with slightly squint brackets, and this rather neat mock-parquet flooring border in the second waiting room of the day. I assumed I would be called quickly but people I'd seen called before me in waiting room no.1 for general inspection arrived later than me in waiting room no.2, and people who arrived after me in waiting room no.2 got seen before me too. Somehow – yet I shouldn't have been so surprised – I was the last one standing. It did give me a good opportunity to take this photo though without appearing mad.
The consultant had a very nice manner, and she was very thorough with her ultrasound machine. I also got to see some of the results, almost like looking at a picture of the outer rim of a galaxy, all dark with wisps and patches of grainy white. The conclusion in the end was, to my great relief, that I'm OK. Well, technically still a little bit bashed up and healing, but intact.
Then it was all the way across town again. I had rather expected to be up to cycling there and back but I'm not quite there yet. After a pit stop at Mum and Dad's it was lunchtime, so we ate at a quiet booth in IKEA, and I filled myself with pasta and hot chocolate. Once back home eventually it was time to go to work, which ended up with a late finish, and a consequently lazy evening.
