Whoops!

Early start this morning at Birdland - we arrived  8am. Our goal was to  photograph two new female King Penguins taking their first steps in a UK outdoor enclosure. They have only ever experienced indoor enclosures before. It went really well.

This image shows the first attempt of one of the females to jump out of the water. It was a complete fail! They are used to a much steeper pool edge and so completely misjudged this sloping rock - very funny to watch. By the third attempt composure was regained.

The extra image shows how quickly and well they integrated with the other 4 Kings.
