2025 Friday — Happy Valentine’s Day

On the way to our 60th May 29th Wedding Anniversary, today is our 60th Valentine's Day together (big sigh). We'll be sharing Ted Kooser's poetry ... Mr. Fun will read a poem to me; I will read a poem to him ... and we’ll read the cards we've saved from past holidays (if I can find them) ... and cupcakes and candies ... we’ll listen to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight (live)," James Taylor's "Teach Me Tonight," and Phoebe Snow's "Poetry Man," and a whole bunch more on YouTube.

This is a favorite holiday, and if I can pull together some friends at a favorite Cayucos gathering place at about 2:00 p.m., I'm going to buy them each a hot fudge sundae; I think of that as an adult dessert. Friends are God’s special gifts to us.

After that the two of us will resume enjoying this “happy hearts day” together at home. I hope someone will “Amen” this, especially Mr. Fun.
