A thrush with a paintjob

Today's arrival in the branches opposite my window took me by surprise. I don't think I've ever seen a redwing before. They are winter visitors which seldom breed here. It may have been searching for berries but these branches have long been stripped bare. (Unfortunatlely this is a bit teasy-weasy out of focus.)
