Coppery

I'm glad to see this orchid flower, the first one in quite awhile. A second orchid's getting ready to bloom as well. I need to take a little better care of them...maybe some repotting and fertilizing would help. I don't have a particularly green thumb with orchids.

A quiet day and the end of W's and my lovely (except for the norovirus) joint staycation. I still have a couple more days til I go back to work, myself. Today was spent mostly around the house, except for a couple hours editing at Starbucks. Yummy pistachio latte. Also did a fairly big grocery trip. Played with the cats, talked several times with my sis who's understandably stressed over the mortgage loan process, and am now turning in early. I did jump out of my skin a little while ago as I was walking past the tub and Mosag leapt through the shower curtain. You might've heard me shriek. I think she's found a new favorite lurk.

It's still cold...19F (-7C) at the moment. But not as cold as Oberlin, where Daniel is! there it's 8F (-13C) with wind gusting straight across Lake Erie. And that's not as cold as Manhattan, Kansas, where W is heading for a family visit this weekend: that's -4F tonight (-20C), with a high of 4F(-16C) today. All that plus windchill equals a lot of folks ready for spring.
