And there was wailing and gnashing of teeth

I discovered that an old software subscription that I had was unexpectedly renewed and that I had been charged $162.

"No prob" sez I, "I'll just call and get it reversed and get the refund."

That's when it all started.
Going to the companies' website, (I'm looking at you Norton), for the life of me I couldn't find the link for customer support phone calls.
Oh, eventually after clicking on more links than I could count and passing a frustrating hour or so , I got a chat link and a response from a very polite non-existent person called Kate (nee Robot) whose response was to give me link that sent me back to the place where I had started. This happened not once, but 4 times.
Kate, in her annoyingly  subservient way had obviously been programmed to keep as much as possible a secret.
Eventually, I kicked Kate in touch and chatted with the sales department getting through immediately and got the number I needed  straight away. Isn't it marvelous how sales calls go straight through whereas support calls can get lost in the ether.
It pisses me off.

Ah well...
