walking

Carol is one of my colleagues at The Usual Place - she volunteers there every Tuesday. I find her very inspiring and she has a wonderful way with the young people.

We were both feeling a bit sad after our shift today, and Carol suggested that we go for a walk. We took the (rather narrow) path beside the Nith from Nunholm to the Greensands, and over the Devorgilla Bridge, where we met another colleague and fellow blipper, SkyAboveMe1. We then continued our walk past the Robert Burns Centre, over rhe suspension bridge and back up the High Street to the cafe. As you can see, the weather was lovely (but very cold!).

I am reading a book at the moment called “Windswept - Why Women Walk” by Annabel Abbs, about famous women whose lives have been made better by walking. A walk may not cure everything, but it certainly helps, and a walk with a friend helps even more.
