New friend

I was about to go into the garden and was confronted by this cock Pheasant standing at the top of the steps  less than 2 metres away. At this point I was in the conservatory, so slowly opened the door thinking the bird would fly away or run into the shrubbery.  It slowly backed off and then watched from a similar distance as I picked the washing off the line the packed away some gardening tools. Completely unconcerned by my presence.
