Chinese Theatre

This is a stairway in the ruins of the Chines Theatre in Tsarskoye Selo, "the town containing a former Russian residence of the imperial family and visiting nobility, located 24 kilometers (15 mi) south from the center of Saint Petersburg. It is now part of the town of Pushkin and of the World Heritage Site Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments". (Wikipedia)

The theatre was build beginning from 1778 in Chioniserie style.

During World War II it was destroyed and not reconstructed, so all that is left are it's ruins. Here you can see a picture, how it used to look. This is how it looks now.
