UGLY MUG

I headed to Gateshead this afternoon.  My plan was to go back to the opticians about my new glasses.  Im not really happy with them as they seem no better than my old ones.  However when I got to the opticians door I was met with a notice saying it was " closed for refurbishment". Its closed today and tomorrow.  So I will have to find time to go back again.  Annoying.

Did some shopping in Tesco, Poundland and Savers.  The Tesco in my village is closed until 10th March for repairs to the loading bay roof so I stocked up on on a few things I usually buy there.

The weather today was bitterly cold.  Took me ages to feel warm when I got home even with the gas fire on in the lounge. 

Booked some more train tickets this evening for a weekend visit to see Becky and family.  And booked " The Cat Ladies " to look after Tino and Lily while Im away. Also booked Tino in for a 6 monthly  health check.  Hes never had one before but I got an e mail asking me to book..  Must be because he's 13 years old and needs to be checked more than once a year.

The Mono Monday theme is " Ugly ".  Looked round the house for ugly things and remembered this mug.  Had it for many years.  It wasn't one of my purchases... my late husband bought it.  He liked quirky things.  The mug is stamped FIGGJO NORWAY on the bottom.  Figgjo has been making porcelain items since 1941. I looked online to see if I could find any info about this strange image but found nothing.  Everything I saw from the Figgjo factory was much prettier than this mug.  Maybe it was a one off design for a special occasion. Or maybe its a famous artwork. Its a mystery to me.  Thanks to heanku for hosting the challenge.
