Life's Little Moments

Through the Window

After highs yesterday in the mid 40's F, this morning we awoke to temps in the teens with wind gusts of about 40 mph.  In short, really cold!  And far too windy to try to put my hide up as it would have ended up who knows where.  Luckily for me, a robin showed up for a drink (and to poop in the bird bath, naturally) and I grabbed a few shots through the window.  In spite of colder than normal temps this winter, we have robins visiting the bird bath nearly every day (as evidenced by aforementioned poop).  They are still clearly getting a good supply of berries in the woods and our heated water allows them to drink as they need.  So, win-win.  Other than the poop, of course.

I had my regular follow up with the rheumatologist today.  My blood work is all good and inflammation markers continue to be low which is all good.  I am still debating whether to switch to self-injections since the pills continue to cause some mild stomach issues.  I talked to the doc about switching out pills for injections when I am in Brazil this summer and he said that would be no problem, so that's good.  I wasn't keen to learn about traveling with needles on a trip that big.  So, we'll see.

Hubs is going to check out a martial arts class tonight with the idea of starting.  He's been talking about this for ages, so I am delighted that he is finally taking the leap.

It's going to remain cold this week but the winds should calm down overnight so I will be able to get out tomorrow - maybe even convince Jax to take a walk.  That is, if I can get him to leave his comfortable place in front of the fire...

Cheers,
Debbi
