Breakfast in a proper old school Italian caff in Chapel Market (no lunch required!) then London bus to Leadenhall Market, visit to Garden at 120 (lovely views along the river and across to St. Paul's and to the Gherkin) on a bright, sunny, freezing London day. On to the 'Lives Less Ordinary ' exhibition at Two Temple Place - interesting exhibition challenging the historical narrative/representation in art/photography of working-class lives as lacking in joy and creativity. Afterwards, a mosey around Inner Temple garden and sunny bench lunch, then a guided walking tour of the historic city of London. Final dinner with boy - nice Turkish restaurant in Angel - then a visit to the Hemmingford Arms for some Irish trad music. Turns out the Hemmingford was my friend's local thirty years ago when she first arrived in London!
