E.B. Amaryllis once more…..
……..standing on the windowsill.
We have sunshine today!
Such bright beautiful light, from a clear icy blue sky.
I did have a better night, thankfully, but we were up early this morning as we were having the two younger grandchildren here.
This time they were making gingerbread men.
Our youngest granddaughter, soon to be 6, made hers just plain as she doesn’t like ginger.
Her brother, soon to be 9, decided his would be Pokémon gingerbread biscuits. So if you are not familiar with Pikachu and all the characters and sundries, you’ll find it on Google. He made the figures very well.
They are very good at weighing out ingredients and mixing them together.
Once out of the oven they were decorated suitably when they had cooled.
Stephen and I supervise them between us.
I have various coloured ready mixed small tubes of icing.
All the goodies were then put into suitable containers to take home, just after lunch.
Grandad goes to pick them up and ferry them back. They are only a 10 minute journey by car.
I’ve had to have a rest this afternoon as referred pain from the bad hip has been particularly sharp at times lately.
I will be glad to have it sorted out in a couple of weeks time, thankful that it has only just started doing it, and up to now, I’ve been able to walk and move relatively pain free.
I guess it is complaining as it hasn’t been used to me beginning to walk further regularly.
I am certainly looking forward to being able to do longer distances again once I’ve worked my way through another few months of recovery.
I’ve begun a book which was a Christmas gift, called “Mrs England” by Stacey Halls, first published in 2021.
It is set in the moorland of West Yorkshire, and various other people have commented at the beginning like this one:
“Like a stroll on the sun flecked Yorkshire Dales, “Mrs England” is both dazzling and dark, as beautiful as it is disturbing…….”
A book I know I am going to really enjoy!
I’m still behind with your blips! I’ll get there eventually.
