Bramham House Revealed

The site on which this once fabulous house stands was sold by Leeds City Council a couple of years ago (after many years of trying) and the developers swiftly moved in and felled a huge number of trees on the upper part of the site. They then had planning application refused ..and promptly boarded up the site and disappeared.

Last week some contractors felled lots more trees on the lower part of the site - which has opened up this view of the property. The building remains (mostly) boarded up - and apparently the trees removed were ‘diseased’..a euphemism (I reckon) for ‘in the way’ or ‘too expensive to apply for a felling order in a conservation area’.

My last photo of the house was taken from the upper part of the site looking over where I took today’s shot from.

There is quite a bit of chatter about this vandalism on the village Facebook group..apparently several trees with nests in were removed.

We have a couple of canine guests for a few days while their humans head off to Disneyland Paris for half term!
