Goggo-Roller
Fascinating Bavarian company, Hans Glas GmbH, an agricultural machinery business created in 1883. After WWII it needed to find new products & saw what Vespa was achieving in Italy.
The Goggo scooter soon turned out to be the most sold model in West Germany. In 1950s Glas moved into car production with a 'bubble-car' like Goggomobil which was technically ahead of others like BMW's Isetta. It went on to produce some lovely looking sports cars and roadsters,
Was no surprise that in 1967, BMW bought out the Glas Company & the factory at Dingolfing was to then become BMWs largest production site in Europe, spread over some 280 Hectares.
I spotted the Goggo at our garden machinery dealer when collecting a leaf-blower after repair.
