Now the horses

The horses were luckily at home last night, but early this morning had to set about rescuing the wooden bridge that led across the stream to the fields. Without the bridge, we would have over a kilometre detour.

The bridge belonged to neighbours Heidi & Sepp who can be seen in one photo, together with co-house owner Sascha, who were carrying the very thick 5 meter long wooden planks to safety. They were simply placed on steel girders and would be washed away as the debris was collecting here. The horse's field shed, which is just 2 meters from the stream, was naturally under water but nothing of any matter.

These late spring floods were to be repeated in coming years.
