LA BELLA VITA

Better than the best

Okay, forgive me blowing my own trumpet. I've been hearing this week about the first vegan restaurant in the U.K. to win a Michelin star. I looked at some reviews and saw the ubiquitous white plate with two or three tiny blobs of, no doubt innovative and mouth watering-food. The set menu was £90.

Well the blip is my idea of good food. A generous plate of mashed potatoes, topped with red onions, carrots, olives - tossed lightly in the airfryer. Apologies for the addition of 2 Stella McCartney vegan sausages! And decorated, as one must, with 3 sorrel leaves courtesy of fellow blipper 'Crispin'.

After buying bread and a few goodies* at the Polish in Boscombe, we took the car to present them to Crispin and his lovely wife. *'Sarado' sourdough bread (my favourite), rollmops, prawns and Polish ham.

He insisted on paying, but in the end we agreed he'd pay in bananas (he had too many), and I'd just refused to pay 16p per banana in Aldi, why when I can walk round the corner and get a bunch at Lidl!

Been watching the BAFTAs while doing Wordle etc. Must watch that Wallace & Gromit film again!

Good to see them both.
