Happy Birthday Lili Wen!

Many apologies for my blip absence over the past few days, but I’ve been really struggling with a vile cold on top of the cough that I’ve had for the past month. I have Daniel to thank for it; so kind of him to pass it on! It’s ages since I’ve had a full blown cold and this one comes with a painful sore throat and headache. Yes, I do feel sorry for myself! 

Anyway, we manage to make it to Lili’s first birthday - celebrated a day early as Simon and Lloyd will leave early tomorrow. We start with lunch out at a local pub, then return to Meols for presents, cake etc. It’s obviously a joyous occasion, with Lili loving being the centre of attention and opening her presents - with a little help of course! 

Then it’s time for cake - a lovely lemon cake made by Solveig. Lili is somewhat confused when we start singing Happy Birthday to her, but she loves her cake with its single candle. The coloured sprinkles are a particular hit! 

It’s such a special day - a celebration of this gorgeous little girl who’s brought so much joy into our lives, and a rare chance for us all to be together. 

Rather than staying overnight, we head off home where it’s a case of dosing myself with Lemsip with honey and head up to bed!
