Height

We have some fun measuring the kids heights. I use the back door of the linen cupboard and stick on bits of sticky tape with name and date. They love seeing how much they have grown.

We had Bryan and Kristy here this evening for dinner. It’s a bit hard cooking for 8 (growing boys) when my kitchen is geared for just 2. We had chips (crisps) for pre dinner nibbles, chicken casserole, new potatoes and cauliflower au gratin for main and chocolate coated ice creams on sticks for afters. Everything was eaten. An easy meal and I am pretty tired now.

Maddy and Nina called in after work. Maddy had some left over waffles from the restaurant. Yummy. The fun thing is Max makes them and they are the best I have eaten. He is the dessert chef there now on his shifts.

We had a cool night. Down to 7° C …. in middle of summer. Will be cooler tonight. I had to find warmer clothes today. Can’t complain about that can I? Nice sunny day with no clouds.

Tonight Charlie was fiddling with a key in a locked cupboard. I said open it and have a look inside. He found my old collection of LP records. He had no idea what they were or how they worked. So that was discussed for half an hour. We have a turntable but it’s not connected to speakers so we couldn’t demonstrate the music.
