Serenity

It was a slightly different start to the day today.

Normally I’d begin the weekend with writing a blip about yesterday (I work a day behind), but I’d gone early yesterday with my cheery take on Valentine’s Day (I actually ended up having a really nice day and enjoyed the fact that each of my children is currently in a relationship!) and so had nothing to write about.

Instead I spent the time catching up on other Blipper’s stories and spread some comments and hearts and whatnot. It never ceases to amaze me how busy the lives are which we all lead!!

Eventually it was time to rise and slinging some walking boots in the back of Big Blue we headed up to Keswick for a wander along the misty shores of Derwentwater. Once the wee ones had ceased knocking lumps out of each other over which walking boots belonged to which person (seriously) we had a lovely walk into town. The water was like sheet glass and even though half-term had increased the footfall, there was still plenty of space to be had from other people and their legions of canines.

I was torn between which photo to use as the main, eventually opting for the serenity of the swan’s glide!

We picked up some pasties and sausage rolls in town and had a mooch around the market - not before we’d tried some ridiculously hot chilli jelly sweets from Friar’s! With the people count steadily increasing we made our way back along the water and then went off path to find a nice secluded spot to sit and munch some delicious chocolate bourbon brownies which Debs had gifted us as we took in the beauty of our surroundings.

Just as we made it back to the van it had started to rain, so we headed home and cadged a cup of tea from the grandparents whilst I helped my dad set up a new gadget.

Then it was pizza and movie night - with a rare request from m’boy to watch Free Guy - in front of the fire.

Perfect day.
