A Hearty Tea
Having a family St. Valentine's tea gave us all the impetus for filling out our forms to set up Lasting Power of Attorney, and was strangely appropriate as the documents are the legal verification and proof there is someone looking out for you when/if you become unable to do so for yourself. I had done one for Financial Decisions a few years ago but the Health and Care Decisions were new. They are easily done through the Government website:

Getting them signed off in the correct order with certification and witnesses is a bit more tricky as there is a time limit. If you are appointing someone abroad you need to be nippy in sending the paper copy to them. They can't sign on line.
Before tea I scanned through my sister's copy of 'Say NO to Arthritis' by Patrick Halford. As do many, he believes that western diet and in particular processed foods are a major factor behind many of our ills. He also says that because current growing conditions of even fresh foods are unhealthy we do need to take vitamin supplements to raise our immune systems. This sounds plausible but wonder if its a way of drug companies making money. His 14 day trial diet does sound very health giving though. I'll try it sometime later in the Spring when porridge and baked potatoes exercise less pull on my fragile willpower.
