Fighting Coots

In the hide at RSPB The Loons in Birsay. No sign again of the bittern. Pretty quiet altogether. A hen harrier flew through and a kestrel caught an Orkney vole. The only drama was when two male coots fought over the hand (wing) of a female. Really ferocious with one bird trying to hold the other underwater and drown it.
