Tight as a drum
This is one of the cabbages I am really hoping doesn't split open in the next four days. It is earmarked for the Show. There is a red cabbage which is the back-up but it is almost as tight.
The heat has turned up this afternoon, which is not good news from the cabbage point of view, but it is brilliant for ripening the tomatoes and sweetcorn.
I am your typical gardener: never quite happy!
Bean visited vet Emily this morning for a check up now that she's been on two weeks of the heart medication. It was the general consensus at the clinic that she looks like a proper happy dog again. She wagged. She wiggled up to people's legs and leant on them when they fondled her ears. And she accepted treats with great joy.
She will remain on the drugs for the rest of her life. And long may that be.
Upon researching online vet pharmacies I discovered that I can get her tablets for 48% cheaper from them, even when I include the doubling of the dispensing fee by the vet clinic for scripts being filled online.
I know physical clinics have numerous overheads, and I do want to support them and keep them open. But when faced with a saving of almost $200 a month (or $2,400 a year) I simply cannot justify getting Bean's prescription meds any other way than online.
Needless to say the loved one who is footing the bills is very pleased with my research.
Thanks for all the love yesterday. I slept soundly much of the day and all night. And while I am still contentedly fasting (to clear my system completely) I have more energy today and I may even have a little food at suppertime.
Onwards and upwards.
