This time really, one for the road
One last splash.
One last play with Muscade.
One last run bare feet around the house.
One last dig for a treasure with cousin Leo.
One last raid in the Treats Cupboard.
The car was packed. The kids were rounded with the aid of a cattle rod.
And we headed back to the Big Smoke.
There was the obligatory stop at the Shannon.
And the obligatory 13 miles at 65 kph behind a navy blue Yaris.
From Longford to Dublin, the opposite side of the road was one long stream of jubilant Mayo drivers. Their team trashed Donegal, last year's all Ireland football champions (the real football, not soccer).
I wonder who will get to beat them in the final this year...
We're back at home and it feels strange.
Luca has realigned his Skylander Giants. Mimi is doing her ritual bedtime drama. And Finn collapsed in bed clutching his tenner.
Thanks Nana for a great holiday. Something tells me that you will sleep well tonight!
