A Day Out…
…in Leeds.
It was icy cold but we still had a nice time. I love Leeds, the old historic buildings and the new modern ones stand comfortably side by side.
I think the last time we were there we went via the canal on Fiddlesticks.
We went to the Corn Exchange building which has lots of quirky wee shops and a bar in the middle where they serve food, we didn’t eat there though.
We had lunch in The White Cloth Hall - a listed building where white cotton cloth was traded in the 18th century.
An interesting place and the staff were lovely. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was their ordering system. All via QR code. There was a variety of cuisine on offer in small units. The iPad she gave us kept switching off and we had to keep calling her over to log in, then I had to go to a different counter to get the beers. It was so complicated - for us anyway. Why not just have paper menus?
We went to John Lewis to look at the sofas, the one we’d like wasn’t in store but we were able to look at the fabrics and the lady wrote it all down on the corresponding card. I think we’ll order it on line but we will look at other places first. This furniture will have to last the rest of our lives so we want quality.
We didn’t buy a single thing in Leeds but we really enjoyed looking round and Frank spied Hobgoblin Music Store where he tried out some fiddles, much to Bella’s disgust - she hates the sound and was moaning while he played. Poor Bella.
Bella is exhausted with all the walking though we did have some rests.
On the way there she was fine on the train but on the way back there were some bumping noises where we were sitting and she was a bit anxious.
She was made a fuss of everywhere we went.
All three of us were exhausted when we arrived home.
Goodnight Blippers :-)X
