Flower Friday

I walked down to the village to deliver a condolence card to the widow of Val’s brother. Now Val lives in Cheshire I posted hers. Sadly we won’t be around for the funeral.

En route I spotted this daffodil - I was so surprised as there’s no sign of any in gardens and it’s not usual to see them here so early. No flowers in our house - it doesn’t go for the commercial break between Christmas and Easter that is Valentine’s Day .

I got Ella’s birthday cake made but I’m feeling upset that her present, an oversize hoodie, hadn’t arrived. We ordered it on Sunday and paid extra postage for next day delivery. Yesterday a message said it was out for delivery and an hour later we got another saying they had been unable to deliver. What nonsense as we were at home. The driver just didn’t fancy coming all this way I suspect as they aren’t paid well so it probably wasn’t worth his time.
