Cup

Had wrestled our old futon mattress downstairs and out of the building to await a scheduled (and paid for) uplift by the council. They didn't take it - said it wasn't there/they couldn't see it (extra - spot the mattress). D protested in an online form which promised a response in 5 working days. I went into their website and reported it as fly-tipping (making clear in the comments that it wasn't) but crucially was able to attach the photo. They came back a few hours later and took it. Phew.

Then vacuumed the place, now being able to access the mattress free end room.

In the evening there was a meeting of residents on the top floor (chilly) landing - the proprietors association having sunk into disuse some years ago. D had previously been chair so chaired this one, but a new constitution was adopted and a new (hopefully keen) committee formed. D very relieved.

We retreated to ours for a well-earned cup of a nice Chianti.
