The sun still shines.......
....... in muddled minds.
"Mum where are your glasses? " I found her reading glasses wrapped in kitchen roll under her pillow. It took a little longer to find the other pair.
Mum had emptied the kitchen pedal bin contents into the green garden waste bin.. I'll deal with that tomorrow. Found the collapsible steamer in the bottom of the kitchen pedal bin... That was a stroke of luck.
Made Mum's breakfast. Ticked off my daily check list. Took Indie for a lap of the heath.. Bitterly cold wind. Gave Mum a new colouring book. Stained glass designs... She does'nt like it so that book will be heading to the charity shop. Found another book in the hidden stash.. That one got the thumbs up. Great!
Left Mum, nipped to Lidl's in Kingsteignton en route to Jack's Patch to meet up with Jos & Sandie. The restaurant was chocka. Had a good catch up then headed back to Mum's to make her lunch.
There was a P plate car driver 3 vehicles ahead of me on the way back to CK. The 2 vehicles directly in front of me turned down the slip road to join the A38 West bound. The P plate driver now directly in front of turned left down the NO ENTRY slip road coming off the A38 East bound. I quickly stopped, put my hazard lights &, hoped for the best. The P driver reversed back up, fortunately vehicles coming up the slip prevented her from joining the A38 against the oncoming traffic. Phew!!!
I grabbed a ready meal cottage pie in Lidl's. Mum liked it, with some veggies. I sampled it & I thought it was tasty so that was a result. 11 Longtail tits on the feeders in the garden. The local birds seem to keep the same meal times as Mum so plenty of avian entertainment.
Still looking for Mum's glasses... In the dry goods cupboard along with the cartons of apple juice were Mum's glasses plus her hairbrush in another fabric glasses case. Mum has a glass of juice with lunch... She made a joke about the apple juice which I responded to... This photo was the result.. We love laughter.
Ambrosia rice with a dollop of strawberry jam for dessert. I prepared some fruit for Mum's tea. Time to head home.
Lunch with hubby..
I made a batch of fruity oat cookies to use up the golden syrup... BBF Apr 2018...The golden syrup tin was printed with 'A Happy Birthday Your Majesty 90th birthday special addition'.. That's only 7 years out of date. :-D
Happy days!
Cookies have got a nice snap.
Mustard & honey glazed baked ham with baked sweet potato & lovely veggies for dinner
