one step at a time - ABC
Anniemay is learning how to walk with crutches before she can come home. The tricky one is walking up and down stairs with one crutch.
It's called the ABC method. A is her good leg (abled) and is placed on the step first. B (operated knee) is next, followed by C (crutch). When she has to walk downstairs the order is reversed - CBA.
Now the whole point of a mnemonic is that the letters should relate to what they represent, in a way that is memorable. B = operated knee doesn't really do it for me.
We had a long discussion with the physiotherapist about this. B= bad is not bad. But one I liked best is B=buggered.
Which is what I think she's going to be, looking at the bottom of our stairs.
