The sun...

Yesterday's weather followed the trend of being very gloomy and grey and, just for a change, there was continuous light rain too. Not a day for going out, so I decided to tackle a task I've been putting off for a while, thinking that it might make the kitchen a little brighter. (It didn't, but at least the job's done!) I cleaned the window in front of the kitchen sink. It's a real faff as the surrounding area and window sill have to be cleared first so I can stand on the draining board to reach said window. When the window was clean I finally got round to putting up the glass 'sun', a gift from Lucy, and here it is - the only sun to put in an appearance today.

More of the same weather today, so I did another job that I've been putting off - sorting out the big pantry cupboard. Cleaned the cupboard, chucked out several items from the back of the cupboard that were way beyond (understatement!) their 'use by' date, and labelled the shelves. Quite a satisfying task on a rainy day...
