East View

Up early and picked up a blipper for a day in the hills.

I decided on the east due to the weather forecast, it looked like the weather was good to the west also.

Headed up by the forest to avoid the cattle with young as Juno was with us.

Easy going along a heathery ridge, a large herd of deer cut across the ridge. The large stags stop and stared then with a flash of white rump the herd leapt the fence. Sadly this year's bambi deer could not and we diverted so not to over stress them.

The summit reached we headed south east and came across a corrie full of discarded antlers, we picked up the best ones. Must come back in spring to get more.

Next summit had no deer, more grass and the only fun was my dragging as Juno sniffed out mountain hares and tried to chase with me attached.

We ate in the shelter of this cairn looking over the patchwork fields and woodlands to the coast, an oil rig could be seen off Arbroath.

On the way down we came across lot of dead birds, very sad and concerning, need to get someone to have a look.

A great wee pass on the way back with steep sides and a ringed ouzel.

A bit of fun as Juno raised a couple of roe deer and chased with me in tow.

Home, some chores.
