There's always somewhere new to explore

I didn't have enough time today to explore the ancient historical sites around Great and Little Urswick ("Great & Lile Ossick" as they're apparently known), but I did have a look at Urswick Tarn and the Parish Church, a grade 1 listed building which was quite delightful.  It dates from the 7th or 8th century and is older than Furness Abbey.  The photo is of the Tunwini Cross, beautifully carved with a panel of runic writing and believed to be a fragment of a Northumberland cross dated to 850 AD.
