Au marché
I went to the market in Lézignan for the first time in a good while. It's broadly divided into two parts. The main square is for local producers; here the stalls were thinly scattered, some regulars (including our usual cheese man) absent, and not many customers either. Turning the corner by the church, where the stalls featuring produce imported from Spain and Morocco are, there were suddenly crowds (blip). I don't normally shop in this section because I try to buy local, but it's undeniable that it's cheaper, with more variety ... And on the upside I bumped into Sue's neighbour A, who brought me up to date on funeral arrangements.
I bought some hake and salmon from the fishmonger on the high street. This used to be a madhouse on market day, all hands on deck to serve the mass of customers. Today there were two other customers, and only one person serving. Anyway, S made a very nice fish pie for lunch and there's plenty left for another meal.
This evening, community gym. I enjoyed it; as I mentioned to S when I got back, exercise is much more pleasant when you're not lugging 10 excess kilos around with you -- I always visualise it as sacks of potatoes :)
