The rule at the jazz venue is: no photos. But partially into her first set, singer Storm Large invited the audience to snap away, because her dress, she said, was awesome. Not as awesome as the woman herself, who performs with symphony orchestras all over the world, wails with her own band, The Balls, and was on stage here with her long-time piano player, James Beaton, in a duet that showcased the full range of her talent from ballads to rock.
