Future fig
Another really dull grey day. We went to collect a new damson tree from a nursery in Tenbury Wells. Our little orchard has two Shropshire Prune damson trees but they are at least a hundred years old and past their best in terms of fruit production. The new tree is the same local variety which has been cultivated around here since at least 17th century. I'll get it in the ground tomorrow. My blip is a view of the immature figs growing on the verge between our garage wall and the lane. We should be eating these in about five months.
