Fern in the Wall

I took Basil to Open Church at St Botolph's for coffee and a chat this morning only to discover that they were just packing up. Colin had left 20 minutes earlier. Which meant he was likely to be already at home.

He was, and he has a very swish, brand new red mobility scooter. The previous one had died. Plus, he's getting a lift installed to take him upstairs. He was looking well but I think all the pints he quaffs at The Tap have made him put on more weight. He would say that I had no excuse to talk. He was very pleased to see Basil, who in turn was pleased to see him because Basil always gets treats there.

I met Jo, Colin's cleaner, a lovely lady. Then we went home and teamed up with Len to drive into Loughborough. I bought various ingredients at Sainsbury's but was frustrated at not finding JusRol GF pastry, nor quinoa.

Dinner turned out satisfactorily. A chicken-leek pasta  bake. Of course I hadn't read all the details so there's loads left. The recipe was for six portions
