antique powder…
…jar
from
my collection
when i had more space - this jar used to sit - on an antique dresser - my parents had gotten for me - it looked very appropriate there - now it just sits - humbly on a small side - table with some other - antique doodads which works fine
it was really never my - intent to have something - like this however as with - all antique purchases - i found myself intrigued once - i discovered it in a tiny shop - doing research uncovered that - powder jars were typically - used for just that - powder for the face - of a lady - back in the day it was - much more common for women - to use loose powder vs pressed - so finding jars like this - can be rather fun - i enjoy this one - because of the victorian image - and although not in the best - shape due to a bit of rusting - the rest is flawless - it dates to around 1910 - is most likely from england - and is simply a fun piece - which can make it…
a
happy day…..
