To Be Shifted...

...so that an engineer can get to the gas and electricity meters can have 'smart' ones fitted.

There was a quick trip to the shop - soup was made and I started going through some pictures from the loft. There are an awful lot......... mine, my fathers' and my father-in-laws'. There are also slides that will need to be gone through after the prints.

Just after 5pm (when it was getting rather dark) there was a call from the engineer ... apologising and asking if he could still come and do the gas meter as it would only take an hour (he was due to finish at 5pm).
He arrived a few minutes later and was very apologetic and obviously rather cold. So the first thing was to make him a coffee.
Everything went to plan and an appointment was made to have the other meter changed. He doesn't know if it will be him and again apologised most profusely explaining that the company is currently overbooking installations so that none of the engineers can complete all their given jobs. He was also thanking me for the coffee (an excellent coffee apparently). We don't have instant coffee in the house.
He left shortly after 6pm with a bowl and a gonk.
