King of the pavement...

Today was a bit flat and dull, but I completed the computer upgrade I started yesterday and took the dog for a walk around the hippodrome in the morning. For lunch we tried out a new Indian restaurant in town, which wasn't too bad at all. The service was a fraction slow, but the menu wasn't over the top and the food was actually quite good.

After having a rest in the afternoon I went to take the dog for his walk (and mine as I needed it after lunch) and as we came out of the gate this monster Renault Rafale (index GW 284 ZD)was driving down the pavement paying no attention to anyone on it and nearly ran over us both. The old man driving his monster SUV wasn't paying any attention to people coming out of their houses onto the pavement and was utterly oblivious. The monster car is either all electric or hybrid as I heard nothing other than the wheel noise. He was driving along the pavement for at least 50 metres and I was to say the least most annoyed. For the curious the car is: 4.7 metres long, 1.87 metres wide and 1.61 metres tall, and has a kerb weight of 1.6 tonnes.


Had the dog had a poo on our walk I would have sorely been tempted to smear it all over the driver's door handle (out of sight), but sadly the dog didn't cooperate... Which was probably for the best, though they deserved it.
