Angelo's Pizzeria in Boalsburg, PA

One of the treats of my day was enjoying a lunch date with dear old friends at Angelo's, in Boalsburg. Somehow, January slid past us without such an event; the weather was atrocious for much of the time.

But here we are in February, and we were in between winter weather events, so it all worked out. All of us ordered either pizza slices or Italian hoagies; some of us ordered both! Everything I had was delicious. We unexpectedly ran into an old friend we had not seen in years; how delightful!

The lunch date provided an opportunity to catch up on current events. What this means as you get older is often news of medical episodes, falls, surgeries, or the latest funerals of those we used to know. (Getting older is not for sissies!)

I took an opportunity to snap a photo of the inviting dining area at Angelo's before it got crowded. There is a row of green plants along the window, and it was decorated with festive red hearts in honor of Valentine's Day, later this week. The red and green almost seemed Christmassy to me.

It is indeed true that inside each of us, even as we grow older, is still the young girl that we used to be. So here is a song for our group of friends, whose hearts are still young inside: young hearts, be free tonight! Our soundtrack song is Rod Stewart, with Young Turks. (And yes, in the 80s, we DID randomly dance through the streets with great hair and lots of enthusiasm, just like in the video!)
