AA to the Rescue
TUESDAY
This morning, the AA came out to diagnose and fix the issue with my car.
It turns out that when I removed my walking boots over the weekend, I had accidentally left the rear hatch slightly open. This caused the car's electronics to "stay awake," which drained the battery.
Unlike older cars, where you'd hear the starter motor groaning when the battery was low, modern cars don't even attempt to engage the starter if the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold.
Rather than have the hassle of running around to local garages looking for a new battery, I decided to have the AA patrolman supply and fit a new BOSCH battery for me.
A visit from the Gareth this afternoon in order to scope out the plumbing work for our new kitchen and a short walk around the village in the remaining daylight.
