Harakeke flower stalk
First Peer Review meeting for the year. We met at a Turkish Restaurant in Kingsland, and discussed issues such as the Mental Health Bill, and other actions being taken by the current Government. Much had happened this morning and early afternoon, so I had a short and very brisk walk; about 2/3 the average walk I do.
Harakeke is the name given by Maori to this plant which is an important provider of fibre. Colonists in the Mid 19th Century named it flax; because of similar usage of the plant
