Orléans

On the road at 11.15am - didn’t rush to get out this morning. Destination was Orléans, entering the Loire Valley and we arrived around 4.30pm, making good time. It was fun to skirt around Paris! Lots of heavy rain on the journey. Nice to listen to French radio all the way. Easy arrival at the hotel, Hotel Marguerite, (room 36, nice view over the square) and parked in the underground car park, just opposite. The sun came out just as we arrived! Good deal of 5.50 euros for overnight safe parking if you’re in that hotel.

We walked out for a wander. Lots of places closed with it being Monday and we were a bit early for some other places that were opening at 7pm. Good to stretch our legs anyway, despite the bitter cold. Settled on Blend as a place to eat and enjoyed faux fillet, chips and salad. A good choice. There were only two couples in, including ourselves, when we arrived, but it was packed when we left.
