A star find...
This is the arrowhead that we 'discovered' this week at Mingary Castle. A local volunteer was washing the finds from earlier in the month and while cleaning a selection of iron objects from the cloying mud, LH spotted that this one was in actual fact an arrowhead. Credit for finding it in the mud has to go to ! All very jealous.
A bit of research hasnt narrowed down its date, but shown that such 'barbed' arrowheads were in use in the highlands well into the 17ht century for hunting and warfare.
