All from this earth

As we drove out of Sainsbury’s into Carlisle traffic I was very taken with this wall painting on the side of a building across the road.

Tymon de Laat . . .

. . . is an artist from Rotterdam who turns portraits of people he met whilst travelling in Latin America into anonymous heroes of everyday life, the beauty of their culture painted in the least expected places.

With this Carlisle painting of a young Laotian girl he aims to connect people across continents by placing her image overlooking the side of a prominent road. It is certainly eye-catching and rather lovely.
